The term NLP is an abbreviation of Neuro Linguistic Programming. Neuro refers to the nervous system. Linguistic refers to the language of the mind and programming is bases on a series of measures or activities to produce a goal.

What does this actually mean?
Each of us depends on a system of programmes to produce an outcome just like a computer. From day one of our lives, we allow ourselves to become influenced from external resources or situations around us. This may affect our programming or how we view our 'map of the world' through the five senses (see, hear, feel taste and smell). Dependant on your experiences, this may affect your daily life. NLP has found that we create our own reality, For example you create your reality. It may be suggested this is also based on your personal choice.

Using the powerful NLP techniques, they are designed to create effective modifications in your life which will influence your reality. NLP unlike many other forms of therapies may not take great deal of time for the modifications to take place. In some cases, only one session may be required to change your 'map of the world'

How can NLP help?
NLP creates more positive choices. By allowing change into your life, you are already admitting to yourself you want to improve and move forward. Rather than saying, 'I don't want to do it', NLP will help you discover ways of, 'I want to do it'. So, you are allowing yourself to choose to do it rather than not. For example, if your car has a problem, do you repair it yourself? Perhaps you take it to someone who can repair the problem. This is similar with NLP. Should you be faced with challenges in life, you may find the challenge repeats itself. Until you allow yourself to make the change, then the challenge could be ongoing.

The benefits NLP are changes negative belief systems, erases fears and phobias, Improves the relationship with yourself and that of others, provides the necessary tools to achieve your aims and goals, allows you to create a positive internal state and expands your personal development.

You already possess all that is necessary to improve the quality of your life. Spending time on you for yourself is an essential component of feeling better. Being not trying is an appropriate attitude towards the time you spend on yourself. Dr Brian Roet
